About Shareka!

Hi! I'm Shareka, but my family call me "Reka", I'm a Speaker, Techie, Author, Founder, STEM Education Advocate and Lover of All Things STEM

My passion for STEM began at age 10 when my dad brought home a Packard Bell Legend computer running Windows 3.11. I was instantly fascinated and eager to learn everything I could from creating files in Microsoft Works, saving them on a 3.5-inch floppy disk, to spending hours playing Minesweeper and Rodent’s Revenge. I'd often take my floppy to my grandmother’s house, who had the same computer just to show her what I created! What started as curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong love for technology.

As a first-generation college student, I navigated my path into tech with determination, eventually pursuing a career in Information Technology through military service. Throughout my career, I was often the only or one of very few women on my team. While challenging at times, those experiences shaped my commitment to increasing access, representation, and opportunity in STEM.

Today, I use my voice and expertise to inspire students and communities to see themselves in STEM, break barriers, and pursue paths they may not have thought possible.
